Thursday - Nosework - 5PM

Class Description

We have ongoing nosework sessions on Thursdays at 5PM. The fee is $35 per class. Once completing the registration form we will give the information to the instructor and you will confirm participation through her. and pay a fee each week. Nosework, also known as Scent Work, is a super fun activity for dogs and people. Dogs experience much of the world through their noses and their incredible powers of odor detection. Nosework gives us just a glimpse of their world. While there are many careers using scent detection dogs, this class is for fun and sport. The class is designed to build communication between the handler and the dog. You will gain a new respect for what your dog knows and is able to tell you about the invisible environment of scent. We will cover scent theory, odor obedience, odor hygiene, and terminology used in the sport. There are lots of opportunities for competition and we can prepare you for success with strong foundation skills if that is your intent. Your dog may be just as happy searching for a special toy, treats, or essential oils. We will work on searching and drive, confidence, indication, and the several kinds of searches and games you may encounter in a trial. Whether your goal is to earn High in Trial, an Iron Nose award, a personal best, or just enjoying watching your dog search for a meatball tossed in a field, nosework will enrich your relationship with your dog.

Cancellation Policy

Payment is due at the time of registration unless you are registering for a class that needs to meet a minimum number of participants. By registering you are reserving a spot in the seminar/class you chose. Once registration is complete no refunds will be issued. For classes with a minimum number of participants required, you will be invoiced once the min number of participants has been met, and payment will be due within 48 hours of that invoice. You may transfer the registration to another participant. If we are able to fill the spot from our waitlist a refund minus a $20 fee will be issued. In the event we have to cancel due to weather or circumstances out of our control if possible we will reschedule, if we are unable to reschedule refunds - $5 processing fee will be issued.
